Step Into the Future of Biomedicine with CRABS 2025!

The Summer School on Computational Research Advances in Biomedical Sciences (CRABS) is a week-long international training program in bioinformatics and computational biomedicine, taking place in Kyiv, Ukraine, from August 10 to 17, 2025. The school is co-organized by our partners at the Kyiv School of Economics and the NGO Genetically Modified Organization.

CRABS brings together students, early-career researchers, and professionals eager to bridge the gap between data science and the life sciences. The program explores key areas of modern bioinformatics and computational biomedicine, with a strong emphasis on machine learning, artificial intelligence, and their practical applications in biology and medicine.

The course begins with foundational lectures introducing essential bioinformatics concepts, tools, and methods. Participants then engage in hands-on training through one of several specialized tracks, including:

▪️ Omics Data Analysis – working with large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets

▪️ Structural Bioinformatics & Drug Development – modeling biomolecular structures, predicting protein–ligand interactions, and supporting drug discovery

▪️ Bioinformatics for Disease Research & Diagnostics – applying computational methods to study disease mechanisms, improve diagnostics, and enable precision medicine

The faculty features researchers from leading academic and research institutions across Europe and North America, offering a unique combination of academic excellence and real-world experience. A full list of speakers is available on the CRABS website, where additional tracks will also be announced soon.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive 3 ECTS credits, officially issued by the Kyiv School of Economics.
