The Eastern European Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics School (EEBG) 2024 occurred in Suceava, Romania from July 1 to 12. Throughout the summer school, participants attended advanced courses in population genetics, medical genetics, statistics, biological data analysis & visualization, and bioinformatics techniques, directed by eminent academics and professors from the USA, Austria, Germany, Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine. During the summer school, all the participants were engaged in the research process of multiple fields related to bioinformatics and genetics, such as “Network analysis in rheumatoid arthritis”, “Assessing microbial genome representation across various reference databases”, and others. At the end of the summer school, all the researchers had an opportunity to defend their executed projects in front of the commission of invited leading scholars and professors such as S. Mangul, T. Oleksyk, O. Petrenko, and others, who ranked each project and provided detailed feedback on further improvement of participants’ works. For the 7 top-ranked teams an opportunity was provided to present their results in front of a bright scientific community of specialists and entrepreneurs from all over the world at “BioGENext Conference”, such as O. O. Abudayyeh, J. Bujnicki, J. Gootenberg, B. Kleinstiver and others. The conference is held by one of the biggest pharmaceutical company “YuriaPharm” and is taking place in Kyiv, Ukraine from September 17 to 20.
